Prof Bill Sloan was invited to present a paper at a joint meeting between the Royal Society of Edinburgh and the Royal Norwegian Society for Science and Letters (DKNVS) in Oslo.

Traditionally this biannual meeting has focused on the physics of fluid flow. The president of DKNVS, Prof Lise Ovreas, a renowned marine microbial ecologist extended the meeting to include the microbiolgy and the interface with fluid dynamics and invited Prof Sloan, who delivered a paper titled “Do biofilms feel and responds to waves?”
