As part of the EPSRC programme grant and in collaboration with Scottish Water Horizons, we are conducting a septic tanks’ experiment at a Scottish Water treatment facility in Fife.

The aim of the experiment is to study and understand the emissions produced by septic tanks and the subsequent environmental impact.  This experiment is the first in a series of experiments where we want to move towards novel septic tank technologies.
