Justin Sperling and Baptiste Poursat were awarded the SPIE Global Early Career Researchers Award, which will fund reciprocal researcher exchanges between the University of Glasgow (UofG) and The Phutung Research Institute (PRI) in Kathmandu, Nepal.
PRI and UofG have projects aligning with the shared goal of developing new, low-cost, sustainable water monitoring sensor designed for deployment in decentralised rural areas, contributing to the monitoring and safeguarding of water quality for local populations.
This exchange will bring together diverse expertise and resources, with the potential to drive advancement in the field, benefiting communities in Nepal, the UK, and beyond.
The intended outcomes from the visits are to produce an academic paper and a new research grant proposals.
