Dr. Pritam Das delivered an oral presentation at the International Water Association’s (IWA) World Water Congress & Exhibition held in Toronto, Canada.
This year’s event gathered around 7,000 delegates, including key water professionals, stakeholders, and contacts from both the conventional water sector and beyond. The conference was a remarkable experience, filled with insightful conversations and inspiring exchanges with academics and industry professionals from around the globe. The UK Pavilion had a strong presence, featuring representatives from organizations such as Scottish Water, RSE, Isle Utilities, and Scottish Hydronation.
The event was especially significant for the UK Pavilion as the next IWA conference is scheduled to take place in Glasgow in 2026.
A memorable moment occurred during the closing ceremony when the conference memento was handed to the CEO of Scottish Water, accompanied by a bagpipe performance.
During the event, Dr. Das had the opportunity to reconnect with project team members Blanca Antizar, Caetano Dorea, and Thammarat Koottatep, who were part of the conference committee.
He also participated in a technical tour organized by the conference, visiting the Arthur P. Kennedy Water Treatment Plant (Canada’s largest treatment plant) and the Veolia membrane manufacturing facilities.
